Welcome to Hills of Woodland, a not-so-official blog about life in Woodland Hills, California!
Hello there friends, my nom de plume is Girard. No, I’m not French, but as some of you may know Girard was the original name of the area now known as Woodland Hills, in “California’s beautiful San Fernando Valley” – thanks to Bill Murray for adding that phrase to my vernacular from Ghostbusters 2.
I’ve had this Blog idea in my head for a long time now, and finally it’s come to fruition. Its name is derived from the 1992 Jon Lovitz failed career vehicle film “Mom and Dad Save the World” in which Lovitz’s “Todd Spengo” character refers to Jeffrey and Marge (aka “Mom and Dad”) as being from “The Hills of Woodland.” An obvious choice for a site name, of course. Well, that and WoodlandHills.com was already taken. I’ll be posting about anything and everything that I can think of pertinent to life here in one of the the the west valley’s finer enclaves, with plenty of quirky insight and interesting pictures, to be sure.
Please feel free to sign up and post comments and insights, as you see fit.
