Officials, defense attorney indicate possible Keeler insanity plea in death of Dean Greenwalt
Looks as though Keeler’s attorney thinks he might not be playing with a full deck. Ya think?
Prosecutors said Friday that the motorist charged with murder in the death of a pedestrian during a police chase in Woodland Hills might enter an insanity plea.
Kelly Keller, 28, of Ladera Heights, is being held in lieu of $3.7 million bail on charges of murder and attempted murder in the Sept. 26 death of Dean William Greenwalt, 66, of Woodland Hills.
Prosecutor Anya Artan said that during an arraignment hearing on Wednesday, defense attorney Omar Bakari requested a mental competency exam for Keller and questioned his client’s sanity. A judge ordered the test and set the next hearing for Oct. 28.

I resent people from cities I’ve never heard of coming to WH to mow down our residents. Yet another reason to install artillery along the Sepulveda Pass and other entry points lol.
If Keeler manages an insanity plea, o.k. with me as long as he is incarcerated for life. As to installing artillery along Sepulveda Pass, sounds like a stunning attempt to continue this kind of insanity. No thanks.
That was an accident, that man has been goin thru some serious issues. His mom just passed away. He is a owner of a succesful company. He’s no criminal! He just has some mental issues. Instead of always locking people up, try helping instead of spend tax dollars on wars in other countries. Would it be look on different if he was of another race? That white man who ran over those kids at UCSB plead insanity and was granted. So what’s the difference? don’t get me wrong i feel for the family….. But that was an accident! That’s my friend and doesn’t beleive in harming people….give him a break saltine crackers!
Hi ’short’ – Can you e-mail me at contact@hillsofwoodland.com – I’d love to find out more about Keeler and his side of the story. Any information you have is appreciated.
I hope Keller rots in hell. He’s had an uncontrollable temper since he was a kid. His mom was no picnic either.
I knew Kelly since he was a little kid. He was a sweet kid as a child, washing cars for the neighbors, but at some point his life started changing in high school, he started wearing his pants hanging off his butt, his parents divorced and his mom started having mental issues. He went to prison once for assaulting another man with a firearm. When he got out he did start a successful detailing company. He had a nice successful business. But I don’t think he ever got over the two issues of his parents divorcing and not having his father in his life. He hooked up with an older woman with two adult soons who had there own criminal cases which put them in jail.
Then his mom passed away and he ended up losing the family home that he grew up in. That was probably the last straw. It was almost like he had a death wish, why else would you run from the police for a traffic offense, engage in a high speed chase on busy Ventura Blvd and then engage in a gun battle with the cops? It was very tragic what happened to the victim in the case. And it is a tragic ending to the life of a person who started life so well got involved with the wrong crowd and then looked like he had a promising future.
This is sad i know kelley he did not want this to happen i think he was going through a lot and the way i know kelley its going to be hard to himself, prison is not the answer atleast not for life!
