Dan’s Super Subs – Now That is a Sandwich!
Well, I’ve driven by the place hundreds of times, but never stopped in. But, as part of my mission to cover as much of Woodland Hills’ culinary offerings as I can, I put Dan’s Super Subs (22446 Ventura Blvd) high on my priority list. If you drive by around lunch time on the weekends, as I often have, you’ll find the place is absolutely bustling with activity – so you already know it’s a local favorite.
I have previously browsed their website, so I knew they were going to have a truly authentic menu of gut busting All-American classic subs. So, that being said, I threw all caution to the wind and ordered a #10 – Hot Pastrami with Cheese – and got “everything on it.” And boy, they absolutely were not kidding – they even had pickle spears thrown right in on the sandwich. Honestly, this sub reminded me of the kinds of sandwiches I used to get back east when I was in college. Truly impressive and delicious. I definitely recommend this place!

I have been going to Dan’s sub for three years now. Sandwich is always good. Usually get the hot pastrami or the tuna. Also have ordered 6 foot long for a party. Great service and good food.
Forgot to add, parking is a bit of a pain during lunch hour. Their parking lot is really hard to pull out onto Ventura blvd. Please becarefull backing out if you are backing out. What I do is I back out but I back out onto the large pavement/side walk at the right side (looking at the building) then I can drive out head first into traffic. I don’t think it is legal but it is the safest. Just watch for pedestrians!
