Tell Me: Where is the BEST BURGER in Woodland Hills?
A friend of mine My BFF was telling me about a great burger place in the town where she lives (the arctic tundra of Michigan) and it got me thinking. Where is the best burger in Woodland Hills? Or perhaps more appropriately, “What is the best burger in Woodland Hills?”
I did a quick survey of my friends and coworkers and they confirmed what I was already had on my list: The Bleu Cheese Burger (with Caramelized Onions) at Gaucho Grill and the Great Kate’s Cheeseburger (available with bacon) at Kate Mantilini in Warner Center.
Both are excellent when served rare (my preference) and the Kate’s burger in particular is not a cheap one, but it is delicious.
I’d love to hear your comments on this, as it’s impossible for me to go around sampling every burger in the area or I’d be dead of a heart attack by next week. Feel free to categorize your pics by “Best Value Burger” (burgers under $5) – “Best Burger for Your Money” ($5 to $12) and “Most Overpriced Burger” ($12 +). And overpriced doesn’t necessarily have to mean it’s bad! Let your wheels spin on this and post some comments, and hopefully I can go and sample them for myself!

Ok, I thought we were best friends? WTH?
@Bethany
Corrected.
Now that is more like it. BFF, you are so funny. Love the blog.
Fatburger. I haven’t tried those burgers mentioned above at the sitdown restaurants yet. I just feel they are a bit overpriced but if you think they are good then I must try one.
I haven’t had the Kate’s one in a while, but I remember it being very good. Now, honestly the Gaucho Grill one is awesome. I suggest trying it soon though because Gaucho Grills are going out of business left and right. The Woodland Hills one might be next!
I hate to say it, because it’s a chain and the burger has about 18,000 calories, but I do enjoy the Kileauea from Islands. I continue, however, to mourn the passing of Gorikee restaurant, which had THE best burger in WH–the Wimpy–for a mere $6.95 (sniff).
In the day, the best burger hands down was at ZIGS on Ventura blvd. But they closed. My favorite burger currently is the Monster burger at Red Robins, which is in the Topanga Mall (which is technically Canoga Park) but growing up in the seventies and eighties that was the mall I hung out at – although there was no Red Robin there back then. Pops burgers was the burger place then( also now closed). So if you want one of the best burgers I’ve had go to Red Robin and get the Monster Burger (they will even cook it with turkey meat if you are not a red meat eater)
@jim lane
Wow thanks Jim for the tip…I don’t eat red meat so Im always looking for a good turkey burger. Although Monster burger just sounds so big….
Chopped sirloin at La Frite is nice.
