Woodland Hills Neighborhood Evacuated This Morning – Cops Everywhere
Tanya Peel wrote in this morning with this breaking news:
hey the cops are out in force. my hubby just called and said something about a bomb found… know anything?
Sadly, I was tied to my desk in my Chatsworth-based 8am-4pm command center, and was unable to swoop onto the scene to investigate. Eventually, a Daily News article emerged which shed some light on the situation:
A Woodland Hills neighborhood was evacuated Thursday after an early-morning check at a parolee’s home uncovered suspicious material that could be explosive, authorities said.
The Los Angeles Police Department’s bomb squad was deployed to the area of Avenida Morelos and Independence Avenue, which was closed to traffic.
“Out of concern for the community, we have set up a perimeter around the location,” LAPD Sgt. McNeill Gardner said.
Those parolees are always up to wacky shennanigans. You know, like having bomb making laboratories in their homes.

I drove by this mess this a.m. Second time in a week there have been cops and caution tape within 2 miles of my house…but I suppose it’s reassuring that the cops are on top of things. Just wish I knew what those “things” were…especially what this gentleman is on parole FOR.
PitBullMom, I have a pet peeve with the use of the word gentleman. A parolee, an ex criminal should not be called a gentleman. The press misuse this word a lot ie, ” The gentleman shot the inoccent bystander”. A gentle man would not assault anybody!
