A local shopkeeper wrote in to let me know that she received a fake $100 bill from a female (pictured above) in the last few days.  She has been in touch with some other local shopkeepers & restaurateurs who believe they have also received bad bills from this individual.  Will have more information once they are all able to compare their pictures, surveillance footage, etc.  But, I wanted to get these couple of quick shots online so that you can keep an eye out.

Apparently these bills are pretty sophisticated.  They pass both the marker and UV light tests, and you only find out its bogus when you take it to the bank.  Please e-mail me at contact@hillsofwoodland.com if you have any helpful information about the identity of this individual, or if you’ve had recent similar experiences at your establishment.

Carry on.

The Gaucho Grill “Bleu Cheeseburger” – Bloody – and Bloody Delicious!

Written by Girard on November 3, 2009 - 2 Comments

I suggest you cover the eyes of anyone in the room who may love animals. A couple weeks back in my Best Burger in Woodland Hills post I mentioned the Bleu Cheeseburger at Gaucho Grill ($11).  It comes topped with caramelized onions and a scorched, delicious layer of bleu cheese.  It’s actually be about a year since I had once of these, and I figure it’s only a matter of time before they close down this location of Gaucho Grill too, so I better get one while it’s still available.  So today after work, I dropped on in.

To use the parlance of our times – “This burger is off da chain, yo!”  Wow.  Of course, like any burger connoisseur I got the beast rare.  Look at how drippy, bloody, bleu-cheesy, and oniony this thing is.  The only thing I can really short them on is that it’s an 8 ounce burger, which seems like “wow that’s a half pound of meat,” but for some reason it didn’t seem super meaty.  But ya know what, it was delicious.  Look at the pics and you’re cattle slaughtering mouth will water.

If you are into burgers I really do suggest you partake of this treat.

Comment From Topix Post In Defense of Damien Michaels

Written by Girard on November 3, 2009 - 0 Comments

Kellee posts a comment on Topix.com in defense of murdered porn star Michael Conoscenti A/K/A Damien Michaels:

I knew Damien pretty well. Although we had our fair share of problems and fights, he did have a good heart and was a caring man , especially for those he loved. And when he loved, he really loved,…..the only way he knew how. I realize he didn’t always make good choices, and had a talent for pissing people off. He didn’t exactly have the best reputation, and he always had a good line of shit to per sway others in his favor. He was just a man that wanted to do big things , but the easy way. A man trying to get by in life in hopes of making it big some how some way. Was he a bit of a con man? Yes. Did he deserve to be robbed of a future? No. My heart goes out to his girlfriend. It brings me great joy to know that Damien was loved, and I am sure he loved her too. He was one of the most talented men I have ever known when it came to his music. And those words will live on forever. As for him being abusive and getting people hooked on crack,… first I think that people need to take responsibility for their own choices in life and not blame others. I know that he was there for me when I really needed support and he kept me sober for a long time, and without his support , friendship, love and understanding I would not have made the way I did. I am just sorry I wasn’t ever able to tell him this myself.
COURTNEY: DON’T LET OTHERS VIEWS TARNISH WHAT YOU SAW IN HIM AND KNOW TO BE TRUE. I AM SURE IT WAS EXACTLY HOW YOU FELT IT WS BETWEEN THE TWO OF YOU. YOU WILL BE IN MY PRAYERS ALONG WITH DAMIEN, MAY HE REST IN PEACE. HE IS IN A BETTER PLACE AND YOU TWO WILL BE TOGETHER AGAIN. KNOW IN YOUR HEART THAT WHAT GOES AROUND DOES IN FACT COME AROUND AND WHOEVER DID THIS WILL GET WHAT THEY DESERVE AS WELL. NO ONE HAS THE RIGHT TO TAKE THE LIFE FROM ANYONE. STAY STRONG N KEEP HIS MEMORY ALIVE.

I hear violins playing.  I wonder who got Kellee hooked on drugs in the first place? Hmmmm.
