A Little Chicken Parmigiana Action At Nicola’s Kitchen in Woodland Hills
The other day I asked one of my fellow Italian friends what he thought of Chicken Piccata, a personal favorite of mine. He replied that he is not a chicken man. He prefers to dine on Beef. But, when he does have chicken, he prefers Chicken Parmigiana (A/K/A Chicken Parmesan). Coincidentally, he also eats it while drinking a Dos Equis.
So, in his honor I decided to head out to a local eatery and dine on some Chicken Parm. I ended up picking Nicola’s Kitchen as a good prospect for this dish. I’ve only eaten here once previously, and I recalled it being good, so I figured this was a good way to dive a little deeper.
First, they provide you with a delicious Italian flatbread which is delightfully seasoned, for dipping in oil and balsamic vinegar. You can’t ever go wrong with that.
When the Chicken Parmigiana arrived I must say I was impressed. I order the large portion for $15.00 (don’t worry, I wasn’t driving) because I wanted to get the full experience. Kinda like the “Girlfriend Experience” but very, very different. It was huge, and smothered in delicious mozzarella cheese and a rich marinara sauce and plated atop a bed of fettuccine.
It was a very solid Parmigiana. The chicken was juicy, and tender, with a crisp and flavorful breading. And the sauce was flavorful. Very good. And, the service was attentive, which is always a plus.
I also heard them answering the phone for delivery orders, so that’s good to keep in mind if you ever aren’t in the mood for driving but feel like some delicious Italian food. Their phone number is 818-883-9477.
