Daily News Reviews Buenos Aires Grill In Woodland Hills
I have actually driven by the new Buenos Aires Grill (22458 Ventura Blvd) numerous times in the last couple of months, and it never quite clicked to me that it had replaced Cafe Bellissimo. Interestingly, I used to work near the Northridge location of Buenos Aires Grill and used to go their frequently for lunch. Unfortunately, while the food was always great, the service was very slow and we’d get yelled at by our boss for taking 2 hour lunches so we had to stop going.
Today the Daily News has put out a lengthy review of the place, which is kind of a mixed bag of positive and negative. I’ll try to stop in sometime soon to check it out and let you know what I think.
When you want to sample or enjoy Argentine food, head to the 2-month-old Buenos Aires Grill in Woodland Hills — a sibling to the 7-year-old restaurant of the same name in Northridge — owned by American-born Paul Rodriguez, of Argentine heritage.
This new location — in the former Cafe Bellissimo space — has been renovated and revamped and now sports a dark-brown painted concrete floor, wood-top tables and a long red wall. There is a large covered patio with two cabanas at the back, and a narrow covered room alongside the main dining room.
With a large menu featuring a variety of Argentine fare, we sampled grilled beef (Argentines are big on meat), empanadas and a few other specialties. We passed on the breaded items.
