A Cookie, A “DUI” Checkpoint, And A Redbox Rental
Well, tonight I decided I’d check out the DUI/Drivers License checkpoint on Topanga Canyon Blvd. I parked at the Topanga Promenade mall and stopped by Corner Bakery Cafe and got myself an M&M Cookie then walked over to eyeball the checkpoint.
It was about 8:40pm and it didn’t seem like they were making any arrests or tows just yet. Still getting warmed up, I suppose. The checkpoint was on southbound Topanga Canyon Blvd just south of Oxnard Street. Interestingly, it didn’t seem like they were making any effort to stop folks who turned left onto Califa Street. I’m assuming that’s where all the drunk people and illegal immigrants would turn. [note to people who don't understand sarcasm here - I'm saying this with SARCASM!]
Afterward, I stopped by the Redbox DVD rental kiosk at the 7-11 store at 20914 Ventura Blvd. I’ve never actually used a Redbox kiosk before, but I figured I’d give their $1/night DVD rentals a shot. I rented Extract. A very fine film.

Your just an idiot. Why do you have to point out illegal immigrants making a left on Califa. What about the child predators, rapist, and maybe even murders that made a left? That’s just ignorance and I take offence to that comment. We have more problems than illegal immigration in woodland hills. Murders, shootings, home invasions, and maybe your favorite the arrival of costco up the street. Wow. No wonder you don’t disclose your real name. That’s just a cop out. Saying your not disclosing your name safety reasons. Also last night j drove by the check point 3 times and never once got pulled over, so I guess this checkpoint really doesn’t work and probably wouldn’t have caught your illegal imigrants your so worried about. Loser.
Your former illegal imigrant now legal US citizen
Jose. Adios amigo.
Jose,
Maybe you don’t know what sarcasm is. But, the whole point of my posts – if you read the early post – is to say that “illegal immigration” and “drunk drivers” is not the actual reason its happening. I also went so far as to say it was racist, if you read my comments, if you really were willing to overlook your rights being violated to find “illegal immigrants.”
So, maybe you should read my posts again and realize that I am against the checkpoints on all levels, including the notion of using them to find illegal immigrants. Which, I think is a bogus excuse for being in favor of them put forth by racists, anyways.
So, I take offense to the fact that you are railing against me, meanwhile I actually agree with yo, but you don’t understand sarcasm.
So, all I can say is, huh?
You actually went to a Red Box Kiosk and didn’t get stabbed by some drunken illegal immigrant?
Seriously, I’ve only seen those things in unsavory areas of neighborhoods. Do yourself a favor, get a Netflix account, Girard. You don’t want to have your night ruined by a guy out for your money and a free copy of A Million to Juan.
LMAO
