  1. What did we just learn? That homebuilders have virtually no regulation when putting up homes. Their is NO LEMON LAWS in the USA for new homes in California. To make the most profit these builders use shoddy methods, cheap materials and possibly undocumented workers. KB Home thinks it is the Government and defies consent orders and other legal requirements. Since they have been hammered by the economy look for even more of the same. Unless you can be on the building site everyday when the home is being built – expect many missing parts and a lack of city inspection. What you may be left with is a house full of defects and mold. Builders do not have to disclose this to you. Their lobby has protected them. In my case just Google “KB Home Sucks”. I most likely will never buy a new home again after what I just learned. Hopefully you will do a little research and educate yourself before you make your next home move. The National Association of Home Builders is just a group of the biggest, richest corporations that don’t care about your lemon, just their own share price. Your stuck with the lemons they build. National Association of Home Builders does not police themselves and do not go after the builders who rip off the consumer, they are not the watchdog.

I am very sad to see this development rise up in our neighborhood. It actually makes me sick to my stomach thinking of the hordes of new vehicles that will arrive with it’s new tenants. All of the dense housing that has occurred in our city over the past few years will bring traffic issues to the surface of an already burdened area. I’m curious to find out if the city imposed the Quimby Act on KB Homes! How much money was generated? Where did the money go? Where’s the park improvements or greenbelt areas? Anyone have any idea?

They’ve just released pricing on these units and they are outrageous! $450K for a two bedroom condo just one block from Canoga Park. HOA’s are also monstrous. This place is ridiculous. I wonder who is buying.

Well, I really don’t care what goes up in this town, the entire San Fernando Valley is crap to live in no matter what they are building. Its the same crap from Sherman Oaks to the city of Reseda. I hope they raise the prices sky high so the trash would move away. $450K is not enough for the crappy melting pot non -cultured people that reside here. And all you people that are complaining just move away if you have the means. Just like I am. See ya suckers…..

Why’s everybody in such a bad mood? I just viewed the KB homes in the complex and whoever said that two bedrooms are going for $450,000 are flat out wrong, by about $100,000. I agree the H.O.A. is too high. $400. That being said, the facilities are awesome. Check it out for yourself. The gym has the highest end equipment with big beautiful flat screen TV’s on the walls, and personal flat screens attached to all aerobic equipment. I can’t wait to get cooking in there. The pool is also great. And, the location is superb. You’re in the heart of Warner Center, within walking distance of great food and parks. i noticed the dates on the previous posts are all before the condo’s even opened for business. Give it a chance, if it’s not your thing you can always move on to the Met – if you like old and grubby.

There ARE some 2 bedrooms selling for over $400,000. They may have come down in price a little bit since they first starting selling a few years ago, but they are absolutely over priced. I truly believe that anyone who pays full price for a condo at the Ascent is going to be very sorry if they try to sell in a few years. Other condos in Woodland Hills go for far less and thus, the re-sale value on a condo at the Ascent will likely quickly depreciate. I also have a difficult time believing that any of their condos could appraise for anything close to list price. Prices are falling nationwide and I do not think we have seen the bottom yet.
