Taft High Student Dies After Drug Overdose At Rave
Um, okay. I don’t know what to say about this other than how the Hell are they holding raves in public venues. Raves are all about drugs, people. There is so much stupidity and ignorance to go around in this incident, I don’t even know where to go with it.
A 15-year-old girl died Tuesday of a suspected drug overdose after attending a rave over the weekend at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum that had a minimum age requirement of 16.
The girl, identified by family members as Sasha Rodriguez, was one of two rave attendees who were in critical condition at California Hospital Medical Center after the 14th annual Electric Daisy Carnival.
As Sasha’s family decided whether to remove her from life support Tuesday, her mother, Grace Rodriguez, told the CBS Evening News: “I was supposed to be planning her Sweet Sixteen party. Now I have to plan her funeral.”

i went to EDC last year nd i could go this year but its so much fun .. i dont understand just b’cos one person over dose’s you have to give RAVES a bad rep. im sorry for your loss .
The minimum age was supposed to be 16 but either ticker seller or event manager weren’t checking. If parent did know and consented to this then they are naive to think there is no drugs at rave. The organizer circumvented the rave thing by calling it a music festival!

The volume of patients in need of hospital care led several emergency room physicians on Monday to call for an end to raves at the Coliseum.”
Sorry but raves are no different than the typical rock concert; I am sure you would have an equal number of drug OD’s at a huge rock festival of the same size. Your statement that “raves are all about drugs” is propagating a naive stereotype.
This is what happens when parents choose to be “friends” with their kids instead of providing guidance and instilling common sense in their kids.
I guess, in this case, it could have been worse. The girl could have come home pregnant from some 20yo guy in black eyeliner and go-go boots.
It was her own fault. She willing took those drugs and continued taking them. Where the hell were her so called ‘friends’? Stupid kids just take drugs and dont know a dam thing that they do you, except get you high. Personally she had it coming if your stupid and take that many. And trust me she took them willing with no one forcing her. So i hope its a warning to other little kids who think its cool to drop 5 tabs of X and think nothing of it. BH

Ok first of all, I’d have to agree that it was HER fault.. Some kids are dumb and don’t know how much of what to take, secondly, it’s not her fuckin parents fault!! She probly told them she was at a friends, kids are sneaky… Are most of you fuckin stupid??? Iv went to raves and no one dies, and if they do there fuckin dumb and naive… So if you think otherwise youve lived under a rock your whole life….
