<a href="#comment-122" rel="nofollow">@Donna Mansur </a>

Donna, I am so sorry about what happened to your friend. I was just thinking about that horrific night today. I know the Daily News has cut back and is doing mostly AP stories, but I thought - maybe I'm wrong - they, as the local SFV paper, did a horrible job of covering this story. Your post is the first I heard the victim's name. I get the DN daily. I looked on their online site - nothing much about the story other than limited details.

I actually got more info about how it all went down on Twitter.

Anyway, I am so sorry for what happened. Sorry for my mini rant.

I finally got into CURRY UP CAFE today and spoke to both Chris and Cheryl about their efforts to comfort my friend Dean Greenwalt at the scene of his fatal accident. They couldn't have been sweeter to me all the while being unable to hide pain they also carry.

I wanted to try their food and, as they have a limited amount of vegetarian dishes, they made a wonderful vege Chow Mein that is not on the menu. It was a "to go" order so I will be able to thank them by going in to eat there soon. Donna

I was at a meeting with Nahai on the 15th and I am pretty sure the reason he resigned was to become senior advisor to former President Clinton’s Climate Initiative.

Hi,
Has anybody heard of the situation at LADWP . I heard from a friend but has not confirm from news source but it says: LADWP chief Nahai resign as of September and hired a new person in charge. The new person in charge is a friend or aquaintance of Nahai. Nahai is then rehired as a consultant for 3 months but with pay equivalent to a year of his previous salary. Why do you want Nahai as a consultant when he resigned for his incompetence at handling the waterpipe situation. Also, LADWP has a monopoly in water. They can charge us whatever they want. So you can see if this is true then where our increase in fee for water and electricity is going. It is not used for fixing the aging pipes but it is wasted (like the water flowing out of burst pipes and sink holes). Typical bureaucratic bullshit!
