Taft High Student Dies After Drug Overdose At Rave
Um, okay. I don’t know what to say about this other than how the Hell are they holding raves in public venues. Raves are all about drugs, people. There is so much stupidity and ignorance to go around in this incident, I don’t even know where to go with it.
A 15-year-old girl died Tuesday of a suspected drug overdose after attending a rave over the weekend at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum that had a minimum age requirement of 16.
The girl, identified by family members as Sasha Rodriguez, was one of two rave attendees who were in critical condition at California Hospital Medical Center after the 14th annual Electric Daisy Carnival.
As Sasha’s family decided whether to remove her from life support Tuesday, her mother, Grace Rodriguez, told the CBS Evening News: “I was supposed to be planning her Sweet Sixteen party. Now I have to plan her funeral.”

West Hills Murder/Suicide Involved Elderly Couple
Sadly, this case appears to be very similar to the deaths of Donna and Craig Edwards back in November 2009.

Police discovered the bodies around 9 a.m. after responding to a 911 call from the residence in the 7200 block of Cirrus Way, the Los Angeles Police Department said. The victims had single gunshot wounds to their heads.
The husband and wife, both 77, were found inside after an officer entered the home through an open rear door. The victims were pronounced dead at the scene by Fire Department paramedics, the LAPD said.

Payman Engheta Accident Scene Photographs
I stumbled onto these pictures on a random exotic car enthusiast site which shows wrecked cars and describes the accidents, etc. They seem authentic to me. Payman Engheta’s car, to the best of my ability to interpret Google tea leaves, was a 2006 Lamborghini Murcielago Roadster.

Some Information On Payman Engheta Death From A Friend
A friend of Payman Engheta posted this comment over the weekend. He went to the scene of the accident and talked to some people, so I thought it worthy of reposting.
Payman Engheta was a close friend. I loved him dearly. I just visited the site tonight where the car crash occurred and talked extensively with some witnesses. There were many flowers and candles at base of the tree where the crash occurred. Plus, there was an 8 x 10 picture of Payman’s face in a picture-frame nailed to the tree.
There were about 25 people on the patio of the restaurant called “Cavi at the Big Oaks” when the accident occurred. They say Payman frequented Cavi. The restaurant is a popular destination for motorcyclists. Payman rode his motorcycle to the restaurant and ate there several times. This time, Payman was in his Lamborghini automobile driving the curvy Bouquet Canyon Road where the restaurant is located.
When he drove past the people they heard that he both downshifted and stepped on the gas. According to the witness who described the situation, the rear tires spun out from the acceleration, making long black tire marks on the road. He said the car likely accelerated from 40 mph to 80 mph over a short distance and that he hit the tree going about 80 mph. (Again, I am reporting verbatim from an eyewitness.)
There is dirt and gravel strewn from the un-paved driveway of the restaurant. The combination the tires spinning out from acceleration, the curve in the road, and the dirt and gravel from the driveway, made the rear-end of the car, where the heavy engine is located, spin to the left. The front tires went off the right side of the road over a 2-foot dirt embankment. With the front wheels sunken into the soft dirt, the acceleration of the car, and the heavy engine in the back of the car, made the rear of the car whip violently to the left.
Unfortunately for my wonderful friend, a fairly large tree was in the wrong place. The driver-side door of the car slammed very forcefully against the tree. The tree sunk about 3 to 4 feet into the drivers-side door. The car hit so hard, that the three-inch think bark was ripped from the front of the tree where the main-impact took place about three-feet wide and five feet high swath. The car literally “wrapped around” the tree with such force, that there is a large gash in the bark of the tree on the opposite side of the impact, where the rear of the car bent around the back side of the tree.
A nurse was eating at the restaurant. She said, “breathe, breathe.” He seemed to respond to the nurse by taking deep breaths. He was cut out of the car and airlifted by helicopter to Providence Holy Cross Hospital where I am very sad to say he later died of his injuries.
I visited the site because I just had to know what happened and how my friend’s life was so tragically taken. I also thought others who loved him would like to know more about what occurred.
We love you, Payman. We love your family and they will be in our thoughts and prayers.

Woodland Hills Dentist Payman Engheta Dies In Sunday Car Accident
Dr. Payman Engheta, a general dentist with offices in Woodland Hills inside the building behind Roy’s and Fleming’s, died in a single car accident in his Lamborghini on Sunday February 14th. My good friend Megan, who was one of his patients, says he was an excellent dentist and that she “loved that guy.” She is very saddened by this death. She adds, “he was a great dentist – friendly, compassionate – also cool as he loved Black Sabbath. I referred him to all my coworkers – he would help people that couldn’t afford dental work. Just a genuine good-hearted man.”
Melissa Gasca of The Signal writes:
A close friend of Payman Engheta said Monday that the deceased Stevenson Ranch husband and father touched many hearts.
Engheta, 47, died Sunday after he lost control of his Lamborghini convertible on Bouquet Canyon Road near Cavi at the Big Oaks Lodge, according to a California Highway Patrol report.
“We lost a beloved angel and dedicated father of two sons, a loving husband, a compassionate and devoted doctor,” said friend Nader Javadi as he read from a letter prepared by Engheta’s immediate family.
The CHP report said Engheta was driving at about 40 miles per hour on northbound Bouquet Canyon Road when he lost control of his vehicle on a right curve. The Lamborghini slid and rotated until its left side collided with a tree near Cavi at the Big Oaks, a restaurant almost four miles north of Lombardi Ranch.
CHP acting Sgt. Tony Getzelman said the measure of Engheta’s speed was based on preliminary investigation including witness reports of people at the restaurant. However, the collision is still under investigation, he said.
The speed limit in the area is 55 miles per hour, Getzelman said.
Los Angeles County Fire Department units responded to the collision, which occurred about noon on Sunday. Engheta was transported to Providence Holy Cross Medical Center in Mission Hills, where he endured eight hours in the operating room, Javadi said.
The local man suffered traumatic injuries to the head and a rib fracture, said Javadi, who is also a doctor and has known Engheta since middle school.
Engheta had a dentistry practice in Topanga, but his family has lived in Stevenson Ranch for seven or eight years, Javadi said.
Javadi also said that wife Homa Engheta was too distraught to speak and sons Babak and Behman – 6 and 10 years old – had not been told about their father’s death yet.
Engheta had just gone out for a ride Sunday morning and was supposed to return home for lunch with his family, Javadi said.
“We miss him so much,” Javadi read from the prepared letter. “His body is not with us anymore, but his loving memory will live in our heart forever.”
The CHP does not suspect alcohol or drugs were a factor, the report said.
