A Sweet Deal At Morton’s For National Pi Day 3/14
Now this is definitely an offer that both the dessert lover and math geek in me could never pass up. A new friend writes in:
Don’t miss out on Morton’s The Steakhouse’s super sweet National Pi Day celebration where you can order their scrumptious Key Lime Pie for only $3.14 per slice in the main dining room or in the bar area (only on Sunday). Slices of Key Lime Pie are priced around $10.50, so which is the better deal? You do the math.Guests can take advantage of this National Pi Day celebration at any LA Morton’s location not just Woodland Hills including Beverly Hills, downtown, and Burbank this Sunday all day. Here are addresses and phone numbers for each restaurant:
· Morton’s The Steakhouse Woodland Hills (6250 Canoga Ave., Woodland Hills, CA 91367; 818-703-7272)
· Morton’s The Steakhouse Beverly Hills (435 S. LaCienega Blvd., Los Angeles, CA 90048; 310-246-1501)

· Morton’s The Steakhouse Los Angeles (735 South Figueroa Street, Los Angeles, CA 90017; 213-553-4566)
This is an outstanding deal. I haven’t had a chance to really cover Morton’s much for the blog just yet, but it is one of my favorite steakhouses. You can, however, pretty much guarantee that I will be heading over their Sunday for a piece of this pie, as will a few friends of mine who are absolute Key Lime Pie loving maniacs.

Jamba Juice Introduces Semi-Indefinite $2 Oatmeal Wednesdays
Looks like in the world of the Internets I might be the man with the scoop on this nugget of delicious information. Since the beginning of this year, Jamba Juice has been running their $1 oatmeal Wednesdays promotion and apparently it has been a big success.
That promotion came to an end this past week, and after making a few calls to our local Woodland Hills Jamba Juice locations I was informed that they have begun $2 Oatmeal Wednesdays. One of the managers told me this current pricing is set to last for at least 6 weeks, but he suspects it will end up being an ongoing offer.
$2 ain’t too bad for deliciousy oatmealy goodness. Enjoy!

Sampling Breakfast And More At Panini Cafe In Woodland Hills
Wow, I’m really loving Panini Cafe. Last week I stopped in for my first meal – The Charbroiled Chicken Kabob – and I knew I’d be back for more. This past weekend I stopped in around 11am for my first sampling of their breakfast offerings. I had the absolutely awesome #2 Turkey Omelette (with Roma Tomatoes, Fresh Basil, and Brie Cheese). You really can taste the freshness in every bite. Definitely one of the best omelettes I’ve had in a really long time and even the side of roasted potatoes was excellent. I will definitely be back soon for more of these great omelettes!
Last week I also had my first panini sandwich from Panini Cafe – the #12 Turkey Panini Melt (Grilled Turkey Breast and Onion with Roma Tomatoes and Smoked Mozzarella on Grilled Filone). Excellent. And, for my side I ordered the Pasta Salad. Incredible. There is definitely a growing panini trend in this country and I can see why. This was a great, healthy, and filling meal for a great price. I see more paninis in my near future!
Can’t wait until my next visit to Panini Cafe!

Savoring The Last Day Of Jamba Juices $1 Oatmeal Wednesdays Promotion
To the best of my knowledge, today was the last day of Jamba Juice’s $1 Oatmeal Wednesdays promotion. I almost forgot, but I stopped by after work today and grabbed a delicious bowl of Berry Cherry Pecan and it was actually the best flavor I’ve had so far. Lots of sweet goodness mixed with the delicious steel-cut oatmeal. Yum.
I also had a piece of the Reduced-Fat Blueberry Lemon Loaf in attempt to slightly raise Jamba’s profit margins. I have, after all, been taking advantage of the $1 oatmeal while avoiding any smoothie upsells for the past few weeks.

My First Meal At Panini Cafe In Woodland Hills
I was so excited about the grand opening of Panini Cafe in Woodland Hills that I stopped in for a meal the very first chance that I could. And, thankfully I brought an appetite. The manager, Israel, was an extremely friendly and gracious host and my server, Isabella, was excellent and super helpful!
For starters, I wanted to check out their soup offerings. I ordered a cup of Mom’s Chicken Vegetable with Noodles (a cup is $2.95) and Israel also had me sample the vegetarian Home Made Lentil soup. Typically I avoid vegetarian soups for fear of blandness, but honestly I was blown away with how flavorful the lentil soup was! The chicken noodle soup was great, too. Very hearty and savory. I really don’t think you could go wrong with either. What you can’t really see in the pictures is that the soups are also accompanied by a piece of il Fornaio’s delicious bread. Good stuff!
Israel suggested for my first visit that I try out one of the most popular and most highly recommended dishes, the Charbroiled Chicken Shish Kabob. I chose the Mediterranean Greek Salad as the salad option, and selected the Organic Bulgur Pilaf as the rice option (as opposed to the more traditional, and also available, Basmati Rice). Now, this is a dish that is a staple of Mediterranean/Persian cuisine and I’ve had similar many times. Panini Cafe definitely does a great job here, as the chicken was super moist and tender, and the kabob vegetables (onion, tomato, and bell peppers) were broiled to perfection. The rice pilaf was also great and very healthy and the side salad quite substantial and also delicious. Panini Cafe also has very good prices, as this dish is only $12.95.
I had a great meal and a great experience and was pleased to see how busy Panini Cafe is in even these early days of being open. I can’t wait to try one of their paninis, which really look good. Hopefully I’ll be able to stop in for breakfast one day this weekend. I love breakfast!
