There are various price levels and many places have specific offers for lunch and dinner, so check out the site above for details. I suspect what is actually offered at the restauants may vary slightly from day to day since the list on dineLA’s site doesn’t always seem 100% complete. But honestly, it’s always a great value as I’ve taken advantage of these deals in the past.

Woodland Hills Wine Company Gets Mention in LA Times Food Section
The LA Times Food section did a quick write up today on where to find some great “harvest whites” and Woodland Hills Wine Company (22622 Ventura Blvd.) one of the places they pointed folks to. I’m not much of a wine drinker myself, but I’ve been inside the Woodland Hills Wine Company a couple of times, and the selection is amazing. Check out the article below. Woodland Hills Wine company is also a great place to pick up a holiday or party gift for the discerning wine aficionado in your life. I should write their ad copy.
Whenever I mention a local business I’m going to attach a little map to where they are. Hopefully it won’t get too annoying.

il Tramezzino in Tarzana for Breakfast, Kourtney Kardashian sighting!
Well, it’s definitely my opinion that nice Sunday breakfast options in Woodland Hills are definitely limited. On that subject, I’d love for you guys to leave some comments with your suggestions attached to this post. I’ve driven by this newish place (opened maybe late last year or earlier this year) in Tarzana called il Tramezzino (18636 Ventura Blvd) a few times, and recently they’ve thrown up a huge “NEW SERVING BREAKFAST” banner so I’ve marked it down on my culinary calendar as a place to try.
Today being Sunday I decided to sleep in until about 11AM so when I woke up I gave the place a call to see when they were serving breakfast until. 2:00PM. Excellent! So I grabbed a friend, hopped in the car and ventured over to our neighbor to the East, Tarzana to see what il Tramezzino had to offer. First, I’d like to say that it’s in a brand new shopping complex which has great parking and some nice upscale clothing shops. A nice clean environment, and the restaurant was nice, clean, inviting, and I did observe quite a few young families around. A good vibe for sure.
I had the menu item entitled “Scramble #1 – $9.95″ which consisted of scrambled eggs with turkey sausage, roasted peppers, onions, and mushrooms covered with cheddar cheese, accompanied by some crusty Italian toast and fresh fruit. My friend had “Breakfast Combo #3 – $8.95″ which served up 2 pumpkin pancakes (how seasonally appropriate) with a side of bacon, and she added some scrambled eggs for an additional $3.75.
I must say that the food was absolutely excellent, the food was great, and the atmosphere was upscale yet not pretentious, and best of all the price was quite affordable. Much cheaper than breakfast for two at say Marmalade in Calabasas, and a much quicker in-and-out experience. As an added bonus, almost immediately after we sat down my friend noticed that Kourtney Kardashian and her boyfriend Scott were sitting right behind us. It’s actually a crazy coincidence because we had literally justed watched an old episode of Keeping Up With the Kardashians (where they ‘broke up’) right before leaving for the restaurant!
The place was great, I just wish we could get some good places like this to come into Woodland Hills. Why are we being upstaged by Tarzana?

Henry’s Farmers Market is Just Awesome!
Just think it was probably only about a year or a year and a half ago when the only major grocery choices in the area were Ralph’s and Whole Foods. Ralph’s of course is a SoCal staple and pretty much has everything in terms of general grocery, meat, and produce. But foodies like myself were always drawn to the higher end grocers like Whole Foods – except the prices are pretty ridiculous on just about everything.
Then last year Trader Joe’s moved in and it was a new ball game. I pretty much entirely ditched Whole Foods (and Ralph’s, for that matter) and was loving Trader Joe’s. TJ’s is great in that they have a lot of great partially prepared meals and meats that go from stove to table in 30 minutes or less.
But, then, early this year, gloriously Henry’s opened up. Now, I must admit that since I don’t go to TJ’s much any more, I miss their meats just a little bit (especially some of that great carne asada they have). That being said, I love the produce, meat, and fish at Henry’s. They also have a great dry goods section in the middle of the store with a variety of nuts, candies, beans, coffee, you name it.
It really is great that in just a couple of short years things have gone from night to day in Woodland Hills with regards to groceries. Henry’s also wins out in that it is open daily until 10PM, whereas Trader Joe’s closes at 9, and even though whole foods is also open until 10, they pretty much start breaking everything down at 9 to 9:30. Also, has anyone else noticed that Whole Foods is MUCH less crowded than it used to be?

Pumpkin and Pumpkin Pecan Cheesecake now available at The Cheesecake Factory!
Ok, is it wrong to be excited about something like this? Well, every year come Fall and the holidays, The Cheesecake Factory adds the very delicious Pumpkin and Pumpkin Pecan (my personal favorite) cheesecakes to their fine offerings. I at there on Wednesday September 30th and our very festive and jovial waiter told us they weren’t available just yet but would be soon. I figured it was something that would happen prompty on October 1st. Well, I made the time today to call over and yep – they are now available.
Obviously I called the Woodland Hills Cheesecake Factory located in Warner Center on Canoga Ave between Victory Blvd and Erwin. These two flavors are only seasonal, but you have through the holidays to enjoy them. I believe nearer to Christmas they have a peppermint variety also. I’ll head over there in the next few days and hopefully get a salice and maybe even take a picture of it for the Blog. Ah, the tough love of a community Blogger, eh?
