Emma Ridley’s Goddess Fitness Dance Opens In Old Woodland Casual Space
Wow, today when I was driving to the future location of Pavilion’s in Woodland Hills I noticed that a new business had moved into the old Woodland Casual space at 19855 Ventura Blvd. Turns out that it’s the second location of Emma Ridley’s Goddess Fitness Dance. According to their Facebook page, they are in the midst of their Grand Opening.
Seems like Ridley is some kind of socialite and former 80’s party girl who may have been on some sort of reality show called Spoiled Rotten. None of this I can truly confirm or disconfirm, but what I can tell you is that the place seemed pretty busy and I observed many MILFs and Cougars walking in and out of the place. To me, this is instantly more exciting than the overpriced patio furniture that was previously available at that location. Check out the video clip below which documents the site selection for this location.

Performance Bicycle Now Open In Woodland Hills, Grand Opening Sale Thru Sunday
I remember reading this press release (PDF) a few months back and seeing the signage go up for a new Performance Bicycle store next door to the Men’s Wearhouse earlier this year. However, the opening date mentioned in the release, May 7th, came and went with very little visible process at the site. However, yesterday Performance Bicycle finally opened at 6400 Owensmouth Avenue in Woodland Hills.
An employee at the store told me over the phone that they are having a big grand opening sale through tomorrow, so if you are into cycling you should drop by and check the place out.

Anthropologie Now Open In Westfield Topanga Mall
Well folk, it looks like Anthropologie at Westfield Topanga ended up being able to open sooner than previously anticipated! They opened up today, so I dropped by and took a few pictures for your viewing pleasure. The place definitely had a very Springy feel, as they were selling live plants and lots of pretty Spring dresses. Enjoy.
This almost makes up for the closing of Pottery Barn earlier this year. The phone number of the new store is (818) -716-1162 and it is located on the first floor of the mall, just below the food court, in the old The Farm space.

Rumor Mill Puts Anthropologie At Westfield Topanga Opening For Monday April 5, 2010
I swung by Topanga Plaza over the weekend and it looked like Anthropologie was pretty much ready to go. People were inside setting up merchandise and finalizing the window displays. A call over to the mall today puts the whisper open day for next Monday April 5th, but I was advised to call back later in the week for final confirmation as Anthropologie has not committed to a firm date just yet.
I was also told that Urban Outfitters has only just begun their construction, and as of right now they are looking at a mid-July open date. Watch this space for more information!

Red Hat Restaurant Moves Into Old Mark & Jane’s Place Space
As previously blogged, the short lived South African themed restaurant Mark & Jane’s Place closed back in November. A couple of weeks ago I noticed Persian eatery Red Hat Restaurant has opened in the space, located at 22990 Ventura Blvd (right next door to Topanga Pizza). Seems like there is also a new salon next door, Studio 9 Hair Design. Next time I am in the mood for some Persian food I’ll check out Red Hat and see how it is.

Grand Opening! Panini Cafe In Woodland Hills Now Open For Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner
I’m happy to inform you that as of yesterday, Panini Cafe in Woodland Hills is now open 7 days a week serving breakfast, lunch, and dinner. As you might remember, Panini Cafe replaces Pomodoro Cucina Italiana, which closed in December.
I stopped in tonight and was surprised to see how busy the place was. I was able to have a great conversation with the very friendly and helpful Panini Cafe manager, Israel. He informed me that they opened on Thursday, though they had originally intended to open on February 1st. The renovation construction, which looks awesome by the way, took a little bit longer than expected, and they are still working out a few kinks here or there. However, you could barely tell as the place seemed to be functioning on all cylinders.
Panini Cafe is open 363 days a day (they only close on the 4th of July and on Christmas). Best of all they open at 8am seven days a week and serve breakfast until 11:30am on week days, and 3pm on weekends. Israel says they have been pretty busy – especially during lunch hours – even though they didn’t really do any promotion of their opening. He explains that many regular visitors to other locations of the chain, which has its nearest locations in Sherman Oaks, Beverly Hills, and Santa Monica, live in Woodland Hills and he hopes they’ll become regulars at the new location.
Israel also points out that the restaurants gets fresh produce and meats (many of which are organic and locally sourced) delivered six days a week. They also get fresh bread delivered daily from iI Fornaio (good stuff). Most vegetables are chopped and prepared as you order them to assure freshness. It’s a pretty nice place, and I’m hoping to drop by in the next day or two to enjoy the food. Here is the menu in PDF format.
Panini Cafe Woodland Hills is located at 21600 Victory Blvd and their phone number is (818) 992-3330.
